The Intorcio Family
Fall ‘99 Postcard!!!!!
Here’s what we did this fall!
October saw the arrival of fall in New England and Joshua and Jacob (and John) took on Great Blue Hill with their friends Noah and Dylan and their mom and dad Gary and Melissa. The four banditos had a grand time climbing up everything in site. We had a lovely view for our picnic on top…

We were so thrilled with the warm dry fall that we went out again the following weekend and, this time with our whole family AND Rosie, and we took on Little Manadnock in southern New Hampshire:

Pappa and Grammy Susan (Shawn’s dad and step mom) made a trip up from Florida to visit us in early October. We don’t get to have them here very often so we packed in the activities! We had a great Italian dinner in Boston’s North End and did a bit of touring around the big city. We visited the Topsfiield fair…

…went apple and pumpkin picking…

and Susan and the boys just couldn’t stop clowning around!

It was a great time! We hope they’ll come back to visit us again real soon!
Our Halloween weekend was a busy one! We made a trip to Eastern Virginia to the home of John’s first cousin Mary Jo and her husband Sami. They own a gorgeous 150 acre farm in the country which was the site of a surprise family reunion of John’s mom’s family in honor of his Aunt Nell and Uncle Dick Taylor’s upcoming 50th wedding anniversary!

Folks came from Mississippi, Iowa, Florida, North Carolina, and all around for the big event. It was a great get-together that we’ll cherish for a long time! Sami and Mary Jo were wonderful hosts - we were treated to tours of the farm, Sami’s wine made in his own winery on the farm, wonderful food, and a great reminder that, even if you haven’t seen them for 20 years, your family is still a wonderful group of folks to be with!

The boys really took to their cousin Rabah, Sami and Mary Jo’s son, who showed them around the farm and took them fishing. Each boy only had to touch the electric fences once to understand the importance of avoiding that! John had a great time catching up with long lost cousins, like John and Coco here, who he hadn’t seen in 25 years or more. It was certainly the high point of the fall! Kudos to Cousin Jim Taylor for being the organizer - thanks again Jim!
We were home in time for Trick-Or-Treating - we were Heimlich, the caterpillar from Bug’s Life, and Batman this year:

Grandpa Ralph returned from his trip to Munich in time to visit us for Thanksgiving. Grams Marie came as well:

We cooked up a 21 pounder and had Turkey Soup, Turkey Pot Pie, Turkey Sandwiches… As always, Grandpa was in charge of the table decorations! The kids love having him visit!
It’s still warm and we continue to enjoy the outdoors…

… as we prepare for the Christmas holidays! It’ll be a quiet affair for our family this year - just Marie will be joining us. But the kids can’t wait, they love Grams, and we’ll do our best to mix in some activities that remind us of the true meaning of Christmas with our gift opening frenzy.
So… Thanks for checking us out! Do keep in touch and here’s wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and smooth transition into the year beyond!
