The fall soccer season was a successful one for both guys - they both had a lot of fun!!

Josh played on a U14 team made up exclusively of 7th graders - meaning they’ll all have another year in the same age group. It was the first year for these guys on a full size field, 11 vs. 11, with full size goals - real soccer. Josh seemed to adapt pretty well to playing goalkeeper with the big goals though he can’t reach the crossbar - so timing his jumps on high shots is pretty critical. His team finished the season 8-1 with only 6 goals scored against them in the 9 games - that’s pretty darn good considering they scored 36 against their opponents!

Jake remains the fastest kid on the field in his U12 games. They still play 8 vs. 8 on a slightly smaller field with a bit smaller goal - but it’s a serious game. Jake switches between playing center fullback - where he directed the defense and used his “sixth gear” to track down apparent breakaways - and playing forward where he used his quick feet in front of the opponent’s goal. His team finished 5-1-2 - good for second place in his league. Like Josh’s team, they’ll all have another year in the same age division.
Mom and dad made most of the games and had a great time cheering the boys on!! Keep it up kids!!
Remember, when Jake and Josh go big time, somebody across town wants tickets waiting for him at the ticket office. For away games, you can just let me know when the private jet takes off. I’ll be there!
