Josh played two sessions of indoor soccer with some of his teammates from his fall team and a few other guys. Here’s a picture of him making a save on a pretty much point blank shot which illustrates two things: 1) he’s a pretty good goalkeeper and 2) it’s hard to get a sharp picture of an indoor soccer game with a pocket camera.

But you get the idea!
Indoor soccer is a lot of fun for a goalkeeper because the field is much smaller (they play 7 vs. 7) and there’s a lot of shots. These U14 kids can take a quality shot from the mid-line so the goalkeeper has always got to be ready. Joshua’s strong arm pays off indoors as well as, although the goalkeepers aren’t allowed to punt, he can throw the ball about 3/4 of the field and set up numerous goals this way.
His team didn’t win the end of session tournaments, but they had a lot of fun!!
