Joshua and Jake both played intramural “in-town” basketball this year.
Jake played as one of only two 5th graders on his team in the combined 5th/6th grade league. It was pretty easy to tell who was a fifth grader - the 6th graders were a foot taller! But Jake more than held his own with good positioning, his awesome speed and anticipation, excellent ball handling, and a sometimes awkward but often accurate shot. He played mostly as a point guard, bringing the ball downcourt and running the plays. His team even finished the season undefeated!!

Like Jake, 7th grader Josh was in a combined league that included 8th graders. Josh also didn’t have the height of some of the older kids but he has the girth and toughness that made him a menace under the boards and he’s quick. Again, he used his ball-handling skills as a play maker and scored many points for his team. In one game that we brought Grams along to see, Josh led his team to a 46-31 victory with two three-pointers, 14 points, and some outstanding defense!

Both guys had a lot of fun - as did their parents in the cheering section. Many thanks to their coaches for their time enabling the teams!
